The Hanover Township Fire Department of Luzerne County, PA will be hosting the 131st Annual Convention of the Firemen's Association of the State of Pennsylvania. The convention will take place on Wednesday, September 22nd through Saturday, September 25th. The guest headquarters is the Ramada Inn on Public Square in Wilkes Barre City. Convention events include a golf tournament, a large parade, memorial services, fire station open houses, as well as a luau & pig roast. The public is encouraged to attend & support all convention events, as proceeds from all events benefit the Hanover Township Fire Department. Hundreds of fire departments from across the state are planning on attending the events, and they will participate in a large parade from the Lee Park Section to the Breslau Section. As apparatus and parade display will be professionally judged during the parade, more than 50 categories of awards will be presented afterwards.
